Looking Forward to Spring Days

Is this warmer weather giving anyone else Spring Fever? Especially after the snow storm we got only a week ago? Now, if only this wind would die down, we’d be sitting pretty good!

Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons. I’m not a huge fan of the cold and I REALLY don’t like the heat, but anywhere in between the two extremes and I’m a happy camper. This week, I’d like to list the things I look forward to most in the Springtime.

I look forward to not needing as many layers on when I go for a run. Let’s be honest, unless it’s 20 below zero, or 100 degrees outside, I’m going to be running outside year-round. But in the Spring, it’s a nice time to run with just a long sleeve or even shorts and still not feel like I’m going to die of heat stroke. And I’ve signed up for the Brookings half marathon again this May, so going for those longer training runs is quite a bit more enjoyable when I’m not freezing my tail off!

I really like that the sun is out much longer. Sunset isn’t until 8pm now which is lovely. I can still get outside for a little bit after work if I want to and not be in the dark. And I can tell it’s slowly getting lighter earlier each day too. When I walk Dobby before work, I don’t even need my light by the time we get back home.

I can tell Dobby is really enjoying the nicer weather too. Since we have a fenced in backyard, I’ve been letting him be outside a little more frequently so he can roam around and wear off some energy. Quite a few times already, I’ve caught him sitting in the middle of the yard just soaking up the sunshine, perfectly content with himself.

A content little pupper enjoying the nice weather.

Springtime also means planting season is right around the corner, and while I don’t really look forward to Dan being gone more frequently, I do know he really enjoys keeping the family farm going. I enjoy going to the farm with him and helping him where I can. I’ve still got a lot to learn, but I’m going to be a farmer’s wife here pretty soon, and I’ve got lots of time to figure it out. πŸ™‚

Speaking of being a wife, now that it’s Spring, we’re that much closer to Summer AND that much closer to our wedding! It’s crazy that in less than four months now, Dan will be my husband, and I’m so, so ready to begin this new chapter with him. Wedding planning has been fun, but I’m ready for the big day to be here already. I just want to be married! πŸ™‚ Spring will fly by just like Winter seemed to do, and we’ll be there before we know it.

What are some things you look forward to most during the Spring? Maybe you participate in a Spring sport or have a tradition your family does every Spring? Maybe you are like me and just like being outside more frequently. Whatever it is, I want to hear about it! Let’s get excited about this new season, and even more excited that *knocks on wood* Winter is behind us!

I hope the wind dies down long enough this weekend where you can get outside for a while and enjoy those lovely looking temperatures. But if not, at least we can watch the rest of that snow melt!

    Until next time! πŸ™‚
