My Person

Each week when I don’t have a good idea of what I’m going to blog about, I tell Dan I’m just going to write about how good looking he is. And every time he rolls his eyes at me and goes, “please don’t.” WELL, I’m not going to write about how good looking he is, but he is going to be the star of the show again this week. 🙂

I know I’ll never tell Dan enough how much he means to me and how much I appreciate everything he does for me. There are some days where I wondered how I even survived before I met him – sounds dramatic, but let’s be real, I’m a hot mess. I can’t be good at everything, right Dan? 😉

Anyway, earlier this week, we had an evening free with nothing going on and I asked Dan if we could watch a movie. I wasn’t feeling very good and wasn’t in a great mood, so I just wanted to sit down and watch something light-hearted to unwind. We went back and forth for a while trying to agree on a movie and finally settled on something on Netflix. I don’t remember what it was called, and it wasn’t a bad movie, but I could tell a few minutes in, it was going to be sad, and I wasn’t really in the mood to watch something sad.

After we had been watching for 20 minutes or so, Dan leans over and asks me if it was light-hearted enough for me, or if I wanted to watch something else. I said it was fine now that we were already watching it and I was getting into it, but when I said I wanted something light-hearted I really just wanted a happy Disney movie lol. So, he took the remote and said, “so that’s what we’re going to watch then.” And he put on Cars 3 – cuz I’m 5 years old – and I was a happy camper the rest of the night. We made some popcorn and just enjoyed our low key evening watching Disney movies until it was time for bed.

When we were brushing our teeth and getting ready, he asked if I was feeling any better and I just wanted to give him a big hug. It wasn’t anything huge, but he spent the evening with me, doing what I wanted to do because he knew it would help me feel a bit better. He’s constantly looking out for me, and like I said earlier, I don’t know how I survived without him before.

So, you’re welcome, Dan, for not embarrassing you by telling the entire world how handsome you are, but I couldn’t help myself by sharing once again one of the many reasons why you’re my favorite person. Thanks for everything you do for me. 🙂

Hope everyone enjoys their long Labor Day weekend and gets to spend some time with family and friends. Hug your loved ones! Tell them you love them. You can never say it too many times.

Until next time! 🙂
