You’re Gonna Want to Try This!

Hello everybody! Remember a few weeks ago when I asked everyone to help me with grilling tips and recipes? Well, I’m not going to lie, I haven’t gotten much better at it lol. I think I’ve mastered burgers, but anything past that and I have to loop Dan in for help. I don’t know why I find it so difficult! I’m pretty good at almost any other kind of cooking, it’s just grilling that I can’t seem to get for some reason.

And while I have been trying some new grilling recipes, I’ve also been trying new recipes in general – Dan to the rescue here too! He sends me a bunch of new recipes and we try them together. It’s a win-win for both of us. I like to cook and he LOVES researching new things.

And maybe it’s just cuz I’m really hungry right now, but there’s one new recipe in particular I want to share with all of you because I can’t stop thinking about how good it is. It’s the least I can do for all the grilling recipes you shared with me!

So, like I said, we’ve tried quite a few new yummy recipes over the last several weeks, and I’m happy to sprinkle them in every now and again, but the one I want to tell you about this week is Big Mac Smash Tacos.

Have you heard of them or made them yourself?? We found this bad boy on Instagram and right away I knew I needed to  try them. They are really easy to make, and super delicious.

For the ingredients you’ll need: ground beef, mini flour tortillas, and salt and pepper. To make the Bic Mac sauce you’ll need: 1/2 cup Mayo, 2 Tbsp sweet pickle relish, 2 Tbsp grated sweet onion, 2 tsp yellow mustard, 1/2 tsp white vinegar, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp white sugar, and salt to taste.

I usually start by making the Bic Mac sauce and then I set it off to the side for later.

Next, I take one of my mini flour tortillas and a chunk of beef and I flatten the beef so it covers the entire tortilla. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper on top and then plop it on the skillet, meat side down. You’re gonna cook that for about five minutes, and then flip it over to the other side – tortilla side down.

Now, Dan likes cheese on his, but I don’t. If you want cheese, now is the time to stick a piece of cheese on top. If not, leave it alone. Regardless, you’ll cook for about one more minute – or until the cheese gets a little melted – and then you can remove from heat.

They’re done cooking and now you can add whatever toppings you like! I usually just put lettuce and the Bic Mac sauce on top and call it good. Sometimes I’ll add pickles, but the relish in the sauce is basically like already having pickles on it, so I don’t always add more. Then you just fold them like a taco and enjoy!! Fore warning, they are VERY messy. So, make sure you have lots of napkins nearby!

Trust me, these will quickly become a fan favorite! They’re definitely getting added to my grocery list for supper this week. 😋

Happy cooking!

Until next time! 🙂
