Surreal Feeling

Hey, it’s me, here to talk about my book again! If you’re getting sick of hearing about it, I suggest you tune me out, because I’m only just getting started! πŸ™‚ It has been so surreal since Sink or Swim has gone live. I’ve had people reaching out to me all week saying they’ve purchased my book, or have seen my ads online, or they want me to sign their copy, and it’s just such an awesome feeling! This has been a dream of mine for so long, and I’ve put so much time and effort into this book, that I’m so glad it is getting such a positive response.

I had a ton of people send me photos of their physical copy this week, and it made me excited, but also made me anxious since I still hadn’t gotten mine. How does that work?? The author is the last to get it, I guess! Oh, well. It’s here now, and I am so, so happy with it. I set it on my table, and every time I walk by, I smile because it makes me happy to see it.

One of the highlights of my week, was when I went to church last weekend, one of the ladies there came up to me afterwards and told me she had finished reading my book already. She said she loved it and was going to recommend it to everyone she knows! I can’t even find the words to describe how awesome that felt. It still makes me nervous when people say they are going to read it, because I always wonder if other people are going to think it’s any good. Just because I think it’s pretty good, doesn’t mean everyone will. And obviously it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but if I have more positive feedback than negative, I’ll consider that a win. πŸ™‚

I was hoping to have some other exciting news for y’all this weekend, but unfortunately those plans fell through. I was talking to a local business here in town about selling my books at their store, but they weren’t willing to buy them for the price I had offered. Even though I knocked five bucks off the retail price, it still wasn’t feasible for them. But, you know what? That’s okay! I’m not willing to lose money selling the books. I put the work in, why should they make more money off of it, than me? So, I will continue to do it myself!

And since I have had some people ask me this week: this book is definitely PG-13. It does have some intimate scenes it, nothing too graphic or detailed, but I wouldn’t let your younger kids read it. Give them a few years and then they can!

I also want to stress one more time that if you read Sink or Swim, please, please, please go to Amazon and leave a review. It doesn’t have to be long and detailed, it can simply be: I liked it, or I didn’t like it. Whatever your opinion is! The more reviews I have, the more often it’s going to be placed in front of my potential audience. So, please leave an honest review when you can!

Anyway, keep sending me those photos and texts when you buy it, or as you’re reading it, because I LOVE hearing about it! Plus, it’s rainy and dreary out right now, so it might be a good day to stay inside and read!! πŸ˜‰

Until next time! πŸ™‚
