On a hopefully much lighter note than most of the other stuff you’re seeing on social media currently, I’d love to give you a little pupdate on Mr. Dobby.
Last week he had surgery on his leg to remove a fatty cyst that was growing on his joint. As many of you dog owners know, fatty cysts are pretty common on dogs, especially as they get older. They’re usually no cause for concerns, but because of where this one was growing, the vet recommended we remove it so that it wouldn’t cause any issues with walking if it were to get bigger.
Other than the pure terror he had when I dropped him off at the vet, his surgery went well, and he has been moving around pretty effortlessly since his surgery. He was being really good about leaving his stitches/staples alone too – but only for the first two days. I made the mistake of leaving him unsupervised last Sunday morning to go for a longer run, and the little turkey succeeded in ripping out a few of his staples. 🙁
We weren’t given a cone at the vet’s office, but luckily Dan still had this inflatable “donut” he had used several years ago when his dog, Carter, had a similar surgery. So, unfortunately for Dobby, he has been sentenced to wear the donut until further notice.
And don’t get me wrong, I feel for him, I do. But I also CANNOT take him seriously in that donut!

Here’s to hoping he can keep leaving those staples alone for a couple more days and then we can get them taken out and get back to the donut free days.
Hope everyone enjoys the last official weekend of Summer – Fall starts on Monday!
Until next time! 🙂
