For those of you who know I lost my job at the end of March, you probably know that I have been babysitting in the mean time while I look for a new job. I\’ve been watching kids for two different families throughout the last few months, and while some days were trying – especially when they still had school work! – I had a lot of fun hanging out with these kids.
We\’d watch movies, and play at the park or swim at the lake, do fun crafts, or just have lazy days. Whatever we did, we never had a dull moment. When I first started watching them, they still had school going on, and I would work with them to make sure they got their assignments done everyday. Some days were easier than others to get them to sit down and do their work, but it all got done eventually. I give mad props to teachers out there. Simply trying to keep these kids\’ attention for more than a few minutes at a time is a challenge all on its own!
But as fun as it has been over the last few months, this week was my last with the kids. Both families have other plans for the remainder of the summer, and I am no longer needed. It\’s definitely bitter sweet, but I\’ll have the memories forever!

So, even though my babysitting adventure is coming to a close, a new adventure will be starting come July 1st! This week, I accepted a position at Lake Area Tech here in Watertown. I\’ll be the Student Activities Coordinator there, and I am so, so excited to start. This position will be different than what I have done in the past, but that\’s more than okay. I\’m excited to try something new and excited to see where this position takes me!
I felt such a huge weight fall of my shoulders the day I accepted the position. With all of this COVID stuff still going on, I was worried it would be many more months before I\’d land a job. I appreciate all the help from all those who sent out my resume, or gave me advice, or wrote letters of recommendation for me. I appreciate it more than words can express and I\’ll be forever grateful. If there\’s anything I can do to return the favor, please let me know. And if there\’s anything I can do to help anyone out in anyway, I\’m more than happy to be there. Just give me a shout!
Hope everyone has a great week coming!
Until next time! 🙂
