If You Could Go Anywhere, Where Would You Go?

Lately, my life has been pretty hectic and crazy between work and exercising and wanting to do a million other things in the little free time that I have. There just isn’t enough time to do it all! And all this adulting has me feeling like I need a vacation ASAP.

Nathan is kind of in the same boat that I am, and almost every morning one of us goes “ugh I don’t want to work today. Is it too late to quit our jobs and go live on a sailboat?” And while we are mostly kidding, I can’t help but wonder what it would be like to go travel the world and see everything our beautiful planet has to offer.

Nathan grew up sailing and has actually put a lot of thought into where he would want to go. If we actually had a boat he said the first place he would want to sail to would be Alaska. He said there was a bay there where a chunk of land fell into the water, causing a 1400 foot tidal wave and it stripped the trees from the mountain. The next place he’d want to go is the Bahamas where they have the worlds largest deep blue hole. And finally he wants to go to Norway to see the glaciers. Sailing has been his passion for years and these are the kinds of things he dreams about seeing someday.

Me on the other hand, would not complain about going to these places, but I have so many other places in mind too. A lot of which would involve docking the darn boat and venturing inland. I’ve always wanted to go to Italy and eat my way through the country, and check out all the history there. From what I’ve seen in pictures and heard about from people who have been there, it’s a gorgeous country and there are so many things I would want to see.

Lately, I’ve also been a little obsessed with wanting to go to Switzerland to see the Swiss alps. The pictures I’ve seen are absolutely breathtaking and I can’t imagine how beautiful they would be to see in person. I think this has reached the top of my bucket list and I would absolutely love to just hang out with a picnic or something and soak in all those views. Who wouldn’t love that??

Although I don’t know how to sail and I’m not sure how I would feel to be stuck on a boat for long periods of time, the idea certainly is intriguing. It’s something to dream about and wonder what it would be like to get out there and explore every corner of the world.

And while part of me wanted to write about this because I like the idea of daydreaming about travel, another part of me wants ideas. Nathan and I aren’t planning any huge trips this year, but we’ve got our hearts set on going somewhere fun next year, and we need help deciding!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you want to go and why?? Have you already been on your dream vacation, and if so what was the best part? I want to do a lot more traveling and I want to see it all!

Tell me about some places that we need to visit and maybe share some we shouldn’t. Is there anything I should know before I go somewhere? Any ideas are welcome and I’m looking forward to getting out and exploring!

Until Next Time!
