Have yall seen those posts on social media that basically say something like “POV, you’re in your 30’s and you get sorted into one of the four houses: marathons, books, plants, or sourdough.”
It made me laugh so hard because I feel like I’m working my way down the list! I’ve run marathons before, I’m obviously a huge book person – both reading and writing! – and now I’ve entered the third phase: sourdough.
I hopped on the sourdough bandwagon earlier this summer when my sister in law gave me some of her sourdough starter so I could start making it myself. I didn’t know if I would stick with it or not, but I’ve actually had a lot of fun experimenting with sourdough recipes.
I’ve made a whole bunch of different stuff now: regular sandwich bread, cinnamon raisin bread, bagels, pizza crust, sourdough brioche, monster cookies, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, brownies, and of course the actual sourdough bread in the Dutch oven. They’ve all turned out SO yummy.
Like I said, I wasn’t sure if it was something I’d stick with or not. I didn’t know how complicated it would be, and it definitely takes a little bit of research and learning some tips and tricks, but it doesn’t take long at all to get the hang of it. It’s also kind of a fun challenge to see what I can do, and what else I can come up with. It’s definitely something to keep my mind occupied!
I know PLENTY of other people who are on the sourdough train too and I’d love to ask what some of your favorite recipes are. What’s your go to, or what’s the craziest thing you’ve made with sourdough? I’d be happy to share my recipes too if anyone wants them.
I’m excited to hear what yall have!
Until next time! 🙂
