Happy 4th of July Weekend!

Happy belated 4th of July!! I was way too busy relaxing and spending time with loved ones to write my blog until now. I spent the last two days hanging out with Dan and the dogs at the lake, and Molly and Tanner came home to hang out too.

Friday was recognized as a holiday for many, so Dan and I had a lazy afternoon at the lake with the pups. We sat outside enjoying the cooler lake weather, and the dogs were swimming around having a blast. Dobby is slowly, but surely getting more comfortable in the water, and soon he’ll be a natural like Carter. I try so hard not to laugh at Dobs trying to swim, but it’s like watching a fish try to swim out of water. 😂

Slowly, but surely becoming best friends as well!

Saturday morning, we started the day with a 4th of July run with run club – is there any other way to start a holiday?? It was hot and humid, but it was great to see everyone and get our exercise in.

Carissa and Scott got married yesterday as well, so we ran for them dressed in our 4th of July gear!

After our run, I hiked on over to Kranzburg with Dan and some friends to experience my first Kranzburg 4th of July parade. Although I was told the parade this year was not as crazy as it usually is due to COVID, it was still a good time! Now I can say I’ve been there.

The rest of the day was spent hanging out at the lake, letting the dogs swim, working on our tans, jet skiing and playing bean bags. I got to spend to the entire day with Dan and my family and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better holiday weekend!

Dan and I hung out with the dogs while we waited for everyone else to join 🙂

Just hanging out and enjoying each other\’s company while we waited for fireworks!

Really couldn\’t have asked for a better guy to spend the holiday weekend with! 🙂

And of course, at the end of the evening, we watched the big fireworks show they held on Lake Kampeska this year – another perk of living on the lake! It was super awesome, but hopefully next year we can get up close to the fireworks like usual. As great as it was that they still put it on with COVID going on, it\’s just not the same as sitting underneath them as you watch them go off. Otherwise, no complaints on my end. It was a great ending to great day.

I hope everyone had a fun, safe holiday, and enjoys the rest of their weekend with friends and family!

Until next time! 🙂
