Celebrating One Year of Marriage!

We have another reason to celebrate this weekend – it’s our first wedding anniversary! It seems absolutely wild that a whole year has gone by already. I can’t believe how fast time goes.

It seems funny because for months after the wedding, I’d see other people getting engaged, having their bridal showers or bachelor/bachelorette parties, and all the other things that naturally come with planning a wedding, and I couldn’t help but think how glad I was to be done with that part of our relationship, and moving on to the next phase. But now that we’re here at the one-year mark, I wish I could go back to just that day and do it all over again.

It really was a magical day, and I look through our photos every chance I get. I won’t share ALL of them – although it would be fun wouldn’t it!? – but here are a few of my favorites from the big day. 🙂

Our first look was easily my favorite part of the whole day. Shortly after this photo, Dan started crying which melted my heart on the spot because he is usually not a very emotional person – I promised I wouldn’t share the pics of him crying though 😉

This last year has brought so many wonderful new memories together, including house projects, hunting together, going on our honeymoon to Belize, and every little moment in between. I really couldn’t imagine going through life – the good parts and the bad – with anyone else.

Dan’s the first person I want to see when I have good news, and he’s the first shoulder I run to cry on when I have bad news. He helps keep me grounded and he’s really good at helping me see the logical side of any situation. He genuinely appreciates the things I do around the house, and I hope he knows how much I appreciate everything he does for me. Especially when it comes to cleaning my hair out of the shower drain – the man deserves some kind of an award for that lol.

I still get a lot of crap for being in the “honeymoon phase” of our marriage, but I don’t care. For now, I’m enjoying everything married life has to offer, and with Dan by my side, I know it can only get better from here. I love doing life with you by my side, Dan, and I can’t wait to see what year #2 brings for us.

Happy Anniversary Danny Boy – I love you!

Until next time! 🙂
