Back to Back Author Events.

If you read last week\’s blog post, I mentioned that I had a book signing at Makepeace Jewelers last Friday, and that I was going to have another book event in Clark this week. I\’d like to take a hot minute to tell y\’all how each event went!

Last week, I was at Makepeace Jewelers from 12-2pm signing and selling books. Not going to lie, I felt like a local celebrity that day! Y\’all really know how to make a girl feel special. It was so nice to see so many people come in and either buy a book, or bring their already ordered book for me to sign. And Jill and Tim and the rest of their crew were so nice to let me come in and do this. Words can\’t describe how awesome all of you are!

Look at this beautiful set up! Jill even provided treats and mimosas!

Jill got the first autograph of the day!

My daddy even stopped by on his lunch break. I already signed two copies for my parents, so he brought in a photo for me to sign. Asked me to make it out to my \”number 1 fan!\” haha!

Overall, it was an awesome time at Makepeace. A lot of friendly faces, and a few faces I didn\’t know even came in to buy a book from me. I had someone ask if I would ever be willing to come speak to their book club, and I said of course! It seems surreal, to say the least, that so many people are supporting this dream of mine. I feel all the love!!

Even got to sign a few copies for WARC members out on our long runs!

This week, I went to a local author event at the library in Clark, SD. It was their 100th anniversary, and to celebrate, they asked a bunch of local authors to come in. I had no idea what to expect from this, but overall, I\’d say it was a wonderful event. There were about eight of us local authors to come in, and I got a chance to talk to all of them. We picked each other\’s brains about how we went about publishing our books and what steps we took, and which ones we didn\’t. I learned a lot from all of them. One of them even asked me if I was going to have my own author booth at the State Fair this year. I told him I didn\’t know that was a thing! He gave me the contact info to the lady in charge and said I should see if I could still get in. So I did! She emailed me back right away and said she\’d let me know once she talked to the others. So keep your fingers crossed that I can get in! Otherwise, I know what to prepare for next year.

Here\’s a photo of the event from yesterday. You can see me sitting at my table in the middle of the pic. No one was at my table at the time of this picture, but I had a pretty steady stream of people coming over to chat with me throughout the afternoon. Sold another dozen books here!

This event made me realize that I want to try and get into more events like this. Not only to keep selling books, but to keep learning and making connections from others who share the same passion that I do. There\’s never too much to learn! I\’m excited to keep going with this little side hustle of mine, and can\’t wait to see where else it takes me.

And as a quick update, I have officially passed page 90 of book #2! I\’ve had to divide up my writing time with work and marketing of book #1, so I haven\’t had as much time to write as I would like, BUT I\’m making slow progress. I\’m so super excited to get this book out for all of you. If you\’ve read the first one already, you know it ends on a cliffhanger. This one will hopefully answer all of your questions!

Again, thank you for all who have purchased Sink or Swim and have given me feedback on it. It makes me happy to hear so many people are enjoying it. If you have a chance, please go to Amazon and leave a review! It will certainly make the marketing part a lot easier for me. I appreciate all of you!!

Until next time! 🙂
