Reminiscing
As many people know, my parents were West River for most of this week, so I was house/dog sitting for them for the last few days. Not only was I on double dog duty – which was surprisingly way more exhausting than I thought it would be! – I decided to make it easier for them and myself and just stay at my parent’s house this week.
Staying in my childhood home always brings back lots of memories, and this week was no different. I found myself thinking about the old days, and spending time with my siblings. We may not have always gotten along when we were growing up, but they are easily my best friends now, and I miss them everyday.
Growing up with two sisters must have been tough for little Nicki, but I secretly think he liked all the love and attention we gave him. Molly and I gave him a lot of crap growing up and he picked on us right back; but trust me, if anyone would have messed with our little brother, they would have had us to deal with!
The reason my parents were out of town this week was because they were at a conference out in Deadwood. They’ve been going to this conference every year for a very long time, and when we were younger, we would always go with them. Thinking about how much fun we used to have at this event every year, it got me to thinking about all the other places we got to travel to because of conferences our parents went to. It was always nice to have the siblings along too, as we would always have a friend to adventure with.
When I was living out East, my trips home were not very frequent, and I only got to see my siblings once or twice a year. It made my trips home that much more special, and we spent as much time together as we could.
Of course, both of them came to visit me at least once as well. It was a lot of fun to show them my home away from home.
Now that Iβm back home for good I love the fact that I can spend more time with my siblings. Although, itβs been a few weeks since Iβve seen either of them and that needs to change! Molly is coming home next weekend and maybe Nicki will take the hint and come home too! π
Can’t wait to see y’all again soon and make lots more memories together! I love you bunches!!
Until next time! π
