Dad’s Birthday Celebrations!
Happy belated birthday to my dad!! I say it every year, but he doesn’t look a day over 25! 😉 To celebrate his birthday, mom, Nick and I all took him to a Vikings game in Minneapolis. It was my first time at the new stadium, and the first game I’ve been to in over a decade, so I was almost more excited than dad was.
We drove down after work Wednesday evening, so we were able to spend the entire day Thursday hanging out in the city. Of course we spent most of the day at the mall of America doing some shopping. I was ready to shop til I dropped, but surprisingly I dropped after only an hour of shopping lol! I bought a few things, and then dad and I got some coffee and hung out at Starbucks for a while. My wallet is probably thankful I’m not much of a shopper.
The game itself was pretty awesome. The stadium was huge and beautiful just like I’d thought it’d be, and the pre-game festivities were super fun. The Vikings played the Redskins this week, which I was pretty excited about. Both of my teams were playing! Of course I was still rooting for the Vikings, and was more than happy that they won 🙂
I had to laugh a little to myself while I was watching the game, cuz I was thinking back to when I used to go to Vikings game with my dad when I was little. This was the first Vikings game I’ve been to where I actually knew how the game was played! I was young and stupid before, and let me tell you, it’s so much more fun when you know what’s going on!
We came back home Friday and stopped in Sioux Falls for the night to hang out with grandma and Molly, and then rushed home to get our outdoor chores done to prepare for the upcoming cold. Now, dad can relax the rest of the weekend and enjoy being another year older! I already told him I’d buy him some Caribou Coffee tomorrow after run club to keep the celebrations rolling.
Dad, I hope you enjoyed your mini vacation for you birthday, and if you want to go to another Vikings game in the near future, count me in! I love you bunches and can’t wait to spend more time with you now that I’m back home 🙂
Until next time!
