A Lot MORE Changes

As if I haven’t had enough change in the last month, I added a lot more this week. On Monday, I accepted a job at Persona here in Watertown, so it looks like I’ll be sticking around for a while!

Although staying in Watertown wasn’t my original plan, the original plan didn’t work out, and this was the next best option. After a lot of thinking, and talking with my family and friends, I’ve decided that staying in Watertown isn’t such a bad idea for now. Plus, I’ve heard a lot of wonderful things about Persona, and my new job gets me back into my marketing background, and I’m excited to continue learning! I’ll primarily be working in Market Research, while helping out in the Design division as well. The Market Research is exactly what I was looking for, and I’ll be diving into a new aspect as well with the Design.

Along with the new job, I will officially be moving into my own place in Watertown as well. As much as I have loved staying with my parents for the last few weeks, I’m excited to venture out and live independently again. I’m not going too far though, my parents have graciously offered to let me live in our lake house – only 10 minutes from their house. But still! I’ll be on my own and have my space, and my parents will keep their empty nest status.

And while I was planning to officially move the rest of my things and start living there this weekend, the crappy winter weather put a bit of a damper on those plans 🙁 Instead, we will move everything NEXT weekend, so I will be living at home for one more week – which is fine. I start work on Monday, and at least I’ll be home for a few days while I work on getting back into a regular routine.

Finally, on top of all that, I also added another member to my little family. On Tuesday, I went to Sioux Falls with the intention of adopting a husky. When I got there, they wouldn’t let me adopt any of their huskies because I’ve never owned one before, and they wanted me to have breed experience. Instead, I caught my eye on another little boy, and his name is Dobby! He’s a two-year-old lab/pointer mix, and he’s a total sweetheart. He’s a great cuddler, and we made an immediate connection. He refuses to sleep unless he’s right next to me in my bed, and he’s potty trained – bonus!!

Dobby and Dakota are best of friends already 🙂

He’s kept me on my toes this week for sure. The big thing he needs to work on his is leash manners, so our walks this week have been a bit of a struggle, but he’s getting there! Once he’s better on the leash, I’ll start taking him for runs, and we will both become better at running, lol 🙂 He’ll be a great guard dog over at the cabin, and he’ll keep me company at the same time.

Dobby likes to give hugs. He’ll hop up and rest his arms on my waist until I give him a hug 🙂

While most of the recent changes have all been good changes, it’s still a lot to take in all at once! Wednesday morning, I had to sit down for a minute and just let myself take it all in and relax. All this change can be a little overwhelming, but it’s a good step in the right direction, and I’ll soon be on my way to getting back into a working routine.

I’m looking forward to starting a new adventure next week, while being close to home at the same time. I’m starting to get very nervous, but I’m excited as well. I’m looking forward to this new chapter!

Until next time! 🙂
