Living in the Present

Every week, I get old blog posts that pop up in my Facebook memories, and a lot of the time I will go back and read them. It’s kind of fun to see how my life has changed over the last six years since I’ve started blogging. It’s almost like a diary in a way where I can see how much I’ve grown over time.

One of the blogs that popped up in my memories last week was this one:

This blog post holds a very special place in my heart. If you want to take the time to go back and read it, please do! But essentially, five years ago, I wrote about how I struggled to live in the present and was always striving for what the future might hold. I wrote about how badly I want to be a wife and a mother and how I wasn’t sure how long it was going to take for me to find Mr. Right.

Well, little did I know, this very post is what would ultimately lead me to find him! A friend of mine read this blog and reached out shortly after to tell me he had a buddy that was single and he was interested in setting us up. I remember feeling a little hesitant at first – he was an older man after all! 😉 – but I knew I wasn’t going to find my person if I didn’t start taking chances.

The person he wanted to set me up with was Dan. And boy am I ever glad I took a chance and said yes! I knew from the first time I met him he was someone special.

And now that I’ve found Mr. Right, that leaves the other piece of that puzzle: becoming a mom. And alls I got to say to that, is that good things take time. I want it just as badly as I wanted to find Dan. But right now, I’m taking a lesson from past Megan and I’m learning to live in the present. I’m enjoying my life the way it is and when and if it happens, it will.

And I’ve got an adorable niece and nephew to love on in the meantime. 🙂

We’re celebrating Christmas with the Reiffenberger side of the family this weekend, so I’m gonna keep it short and sweet.

Live in the present and enjoy every minute of it!

Until next time! 🙂
