Baltimore Wedding Festivities!
As I sit here on my final evening in Baltimore and reflect on the last couple of days, I can’t help but feel very sad that it is coming to an end. It was a long weekend full of love and friendship, quite a few drinks, and way too little sleep, but I wouldn’t have changed a single thing.
This was the first time I’d been back out East since I moved back to South Dakota so it was also a very nostalgic trip. I got to spend some time with some of my friends from school and met a lot more awesome people as well.
I went back East because my dear friend, Josh, asked me to be a grooms lady in his wedding. It’s not a very traditional role for a girl to be a groomsman, but I happily accepted! And I’m so very glad I did, because this was the absolute best weekend. From the rehearsal brunch and happy hour and games the day/night before the wedding, to all the wedding related things on the day of the ceremony, and to the exploring and relaxing we did the day after – it was all so much fun.
Josh and one of the other groomsmen, Alec, were two of my best friends from school, and even though I haven’t physically seen them in a few years, it was like we were never apart – we just picked up where we left off. The rest of the groomsmen I had never met before, but by the end of the weekend, I felt like I’d known them for years. We all instantly clicked and even agreed we have to get together in all of our respective home states/countries to visit each other – yes I said countries! Did I mention Josh is British?? A lot of his family still lives in the UK, and many of them flew all the way to Baltimore to join in on the festivities. They were a super fun group of people!
Besides all the fun and shenanigans this weekend, the wedding ceremony itself was absolutely beautiful. Josh and his new wife, Tessa, are perfect for each other and it made me so happy to see Josh so smitten. He came up to me at one point after he’d finally seen her in her dress, and goes, ”she looks even more beautiful than I imagined she would!” My heart absolutely melted. Not to mention their vows to each other didn’t leave a dry eye in the house and I was practically balling up there. 😂 It was all around a very beautiful wedding.
I didn’t take nearly enough photos from the weekend, but here’s a few!
Overall, top notch weekend! Ready to get back home to Dan and the pups, but excited for our next get together!!
Until next time! 🙂
