Happy 2022!

Happy New Year y’all! Hope this new year brings you all kinds of good tidings and happiness. 2021 was a pretty great year, so I have high expectations for 2022!

2021 brought with it so many great memories, it’s hard to name just a few. But I’ll try to keep it short!

Lot and lots of puppy time this year! This was my second full year with my boy, Dobby, and I also did lots of puppy sitting! Giving Dobby lots of time with friends. Honestly, if you’re leaving town and you need someone to watch your dog. Hit me up!

Kota stayed with us for a few days early in the year and Dobby now has a new BFF. Kota was such a fun boy to have around!
I see Carter almost everyday as it is, but when Dan goes on his hunting trips, I have him full time. I see him as my own dog! 🥰
And of course, I dog sat Dakota a few times as well!

Next up is Dan and my trip to the hills over spring break! We took a few days to get out of town for a bit and not worry about work of any kind. We did lots of hiking and exploring. This year, we’re planning a trip to Alaska! Can’t wait to do lots more exploring with my favorite fella. 😊

Most of 2021 was spent training for my next big race! I never thought I’d become a big runner, but here I am looking for the next race to compete in. I did a handful of 5ks throughout the year, 2 half marathons, and I finished my first ever full marathon. It was tough, and lots of my weekend plans revolved around when I could do my long training run, but I loved every second! Already have plans to do another full in 2022 in the cities!

PR’d at the Dash around Kampeska half with a new time of 2:02!
Crossing the finish line with my parents in Fargo!

In June of this year, I checked off a big bucket list item by publishing my first novel. It’s been an experience trying to get the word out and share my book with readers all over the country, and it’s been an amazing ride. I’ve done a total of four different book events, and learned something new at each one. If anyone out there reading this hasn’t gotten a copy yet, I’ve got a whole bunch at home. I may even give you a new year’s discount! 😉 I’m hoping to get book number 2 out sometime in 2022!! 🤞🏻

The biggest and best thing to come out of 2021 was the birth of my little nephew, Connor!! I’ve loved watching Molly and Tanner turn into wonderful parents, and their baby is the most precious little guy. So happy all the time. I was telling Molly that I couldn’t believe how much love I felt for him, and it’s only going to be that much more when I have my own kids. Love me some baby snuggles!

It’s hard to believe he used to be this little!
He’s growing so fast!

Finally, the best thing in 2021 was another year with Dan! We did lots of things together this year. We took professional photos together, he taught me how to shoot a gun, drive a tractor, we watched tons of movies and went on lots of other adventures together. He is my best friend and I love every memory we’ve made together. Can’t wait to see what kind of adventures we have in 2022!

Dan taught me to drive this bad boy and I helped cut stalks at harvest time. 😎
Shot at some clays too and was actually hitting quite a few!
Love him!!!

I don’t usually make resolutions for the New Year, but one thing I do want to do is get out of my routine and have a little more fun. This year was lots of fun, but sometimes I get so stuck in my daily routine and don’t want to break it that I give up on some fun stuff. I don’t want to do that quite as much anymore! So that’s probably the closest thing to a resolution I’ve got for 2022.

Do you have a resolution for 2022, or just something you’d like to do at some point this next year? I’d love to hear about it!

Either way, I hope 2022 is one for the books! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend celebrating, and be safe!

Until next time! 🙂
