Lovin’ the Auntie Life!
What a week! Auntie Megan got to come spend a few days with Connor so mama could go back to work. I’ll admit I was a little nervous at first to be taking care of him alone for a few days, but it went well and we both survived!
The first day together, little Connor was pretty fussy. Molly told me to feed him 4 oz. every 2 hours and if he started crying it was probably time to feed him again. Well I couldn’t get him to eat all 4 ounces at once so I was feeding him probably every hour. I thought since he didn’t finish his bottle the first time, he was fussy because he was still hungry. Molly said I was wrong haha. But, I’m new to this! Still haven’t figured it all out.
The second day was better. He was super sleepy and we cuddled for quite a while. He woke me up a little after 8 because he was screaming, so I got up and brought him out to the living room in his boppy. He was happy for a few minutes and then he started screaming again so I plopped him in my lap and he fell asleep in about 30 seconds. He just wanted some auntie snuggles!
It’s been an experience, and I honestly felt like I was practicing to be a mom this weekend. Molly asked me if watching him was a good form of birth control and I can honestly say it wasn’t! 😂😂 Dan, if you’re reading this, please don’t run for the hills! I’m in no hurry to have kids, but after this weekend, I think I’d be less scared of being a mom. It was a good time, and I can’t wait to babysit again soon.
Here’s some pics of our time together:

Honestly, it was the best time. And he is such a good boy! His parents got really lucky. It makes me pretty excited to have my own family some day. And if anyone tries to argue that their nephew is cuter than mine, you will lose that battle!! Connor is so stinking handsome, I can’t even handle it.
One part of me was a little bummed that I didn’t get time to work on my book. I brought my laptop and everything. But then I reminded myself that he’s not going to be this little for very long, and I need to enjoy it while I can. It’s a constant battle for me to live in the moment and enjoy it, but I can say without a doubt I did it this week. And I loved every second of it! I encourage you all to do the same!
Until next time! 🙂
