Lots to Celebrate!!

There’s lots to celebrate today! First off, it’s this cutie’s birthday today, and he LOVES making a huge deal of it. 😉 So, make sure to wish him a very happy birthday!

Yes, that thing is still alive!

Along with Dan’s birthday, today marks one full year of him putting up with me! We officially started dating on his birthday last year, and it’s crazy that we’ve already been together this long. Despite Covid, and numerous other crazy things that happened, I can safely say this last year has been my favorite.

I’ve experienced many firsts over the last year, including a TON of outdoors stuff. I went to Sica Hollow for the first time with Dan, and I also got to go Pheasant hunting and Coyote hunting with him as well. I had never hunted before we met, but I’m glad he’s patient enough to take me with him and try it out!

Our trip to Sica Hollow was so fun! I learned a lot about the plant and animal life there from my own personal wildlife guide. 🙂
We went out and called coyotes the last time we went to the farm together. Dan managed to call one in, but it got away before he was able to kill it. This was our reaction 🙁
We went fishing a few times with the McElroy’s! Look at the size of that thing!!
I managed to catch one, and Dan made me conquer my fear of fish to take a photo haha!

We spent a lot of time out at the lake this last summer, swimming with the dogs and kayaking around. The 4th of July, we watched the fireworks from my backyard with my parents and Molly and Tanner.

This was such a fun day! Eating good food, playing yard games, and spending time with Dan and the Fam. 🙂

We were able to spend all the major holidays together, and I loved being a part of his family’s holiday traditions, as well as him being a part of mine. I can’t wait to continue to celebrate with Dan, and maybe someday, we’ll have our own traditions!

Spent Thanksgiving day with my family, and then headed out to spend the rest of the weekend with Dan’s fam. 🙂
Loved spending time with Dan’s family for Christmas as well. And I’m glad he humored me and took a million photos in front of the Christmas tree. Had to get the lighting JUST right! 😉

Finally, Dan is the best cheerleader I could ever ask for. He’s so supportive of everything I do. He’s come to the few in person races we’ve had over the last year, he pushes me when I get into a slump and have no desire to work on my book or get out and go for a run, and when I was hired at LATC last summer, he was just as excited as I was.

He came to my first triathlon last summer, and cheered me on from beginning to end. Felt pretty good to give him a big sweaty hug when it was all over!

He listens when I have a bad day and need to vent, he’s there to comfort me when I’m upset, and I’m sure he’d knock a few heads together if I asked him to! 😉 Overall, he is one of the coolest human beings I’ve ever met, and I’m so, so thankful he’s in my life.

Hope you have a wonderful birthday, Dan! Can’t wait to celebrate with you. Love you bunches!!

Seriously, how cute is he??

Until next time 🙂
