Self Care Weekend
Oof, what a week. But we made it to the weekend! And I’m not going to lie, I’m not too upset that it’s supposed to be stupid cold this weekend, because I’m looking forward to staying inside and having nothing to do.
January and February are our super busy months gearing up for our show, and this week was no exception. By 5pm on Friday, I was drained.
AND while I’m feeling quite a bit better than I did last week, I still have this lingering cough that has been making sleeping and exercising a bit difficult.
Exercise is how I deal with my stress, and if I’m still struggling to work out, it makes it hard to deal with said stress. And not sleeping well on top of it doesn’t help anything.
So, words really can’t express how much I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
To refill my battery, I’m indulging in self care to prepare myself for another busy week.
I’m happy I was able to sleep in this morning. I actually slept pretty decent last night, so it started my weekend off well.
While I write this, I’m chilling in my PJs and sipping on a delicious homemade latte. I usually only make myself lattes on the weekends as a little treat to myself, and I’ve been looking forward to it for two days now. It was so worth the wait.
It’s going to be insanely cold this weekend, so I’m not planning on going anywhere. I feel a little bad for Dobby because it’s just too cold to be spending much time outside. But I’m gonna give him some extra snuggles to make up for it. Win win for both of us.
I’m planning on making some of my favorite foods this weekend too, because why not!? After a long week I deserve to eat good! It gives me something else to look forward to.
And you know what else? I might do some writing this weekend! I’ve been dying to get back to my novel, and quite honestly a new story idea has been itching in the back of my mind too. I’m looking forward to fleshing that out a little bit.
These are just a few ways I like to treat myself after a hard week.
Did you have a rough week too? Maybe the dark, cold days are getting to you a little bit? How can you combat it? What are some things you can do to treat yourself too?
January is a long, long month. Especially in places like South Dakota, we really gotta power through.
It’s important to take a self care day or weekend every now and then. It helps us stay sane!
Take care and stay warm!
Until next time! 🙂
