Listen to Your Body
Well, this week did not go at all as I expected. 🙃
Last weekend, Dan got a pretty bad cold. And Dan never gets sick. This was probably only the third time I’ve seen him get sick in all the time I’ve known him. He’s got the immune system of Super Man. But he was pretty miserable last weekend and I felt bad.
And since I have the immune system of a newborn child, I ended up getting sick as well.
We both had some pretty bad head colds and it just kept getting worse each day. My parents finally told us to test for Covid – and I know half of you reading this probably rolled your eyes at the “C” word. I get it, we’re all sick of hearing about it. But sure enough, I tested positive. Dan tested negative – immune system of Super Man, remember? 🤪
Thankfully, I was able to work from home the rest of this week so I could die in peace and not contaminate anyone else.
It was kind of a miserable week. But you know what I found to be one of the hardest parts? Sitting still.
I HATE not being active every day. It killed me a little bit. I did still walk the dog every day, but that took all the energy I had. And it’s not near enough exercise for one day to make me happy.
I did try to do some yoga on Thursday thinking I was feeling better and I thought I was going to die. I sounded like I had just sprinted a marathon.
If anything, this week was definitely a good reminder to listen to my body. As much as I want to go, go, go, if my body says no, I better frickin listen.
It’s going to do more harm than good to try and push myself when I’m sick. And that goes for any of you out there who are like me and don’t know when to quit.
LISTEN TO YOUR BODY.
I know it’s so much more easier said than done, but it’s important to keep reminding yourself that it’ll be okay if you take it easy for a few days.
I’m already feeling a whole lot better and can’t wait to get back at it when my body says go.
Hope everyone is staying healthy, and make sure you wash your hands!!
Until next time! 🙂
