Looking Back on 2024
Happy belated Christmas everyone! Hope everyone had a nice holiday and you were able to relax a little.
Now that Christmas is over, that means this is my last blog post of 2024 – how crazy is that!? And as always, that also means it’s time for my recap blog post reflecting on all the highlights of the last year – and it was a really good one.
First, the big highlight for last January was that Dan and I took our engagement pictures. It was cold, but it was oh so much fun and I loved every minute of it. This really kicked off the last year of wedding planning and it’s documented for us to remember forever. 🥰
In February, we celebrated Tessa’s baptism, and I’m still so honored that Dan and I were chosen to be her Godparents.
Also in February, I traveled to Memphis, Tennessee for my second NATE UNITE trade show. It was a crazy busy week, but I felt a lot more confident having one show already under my belt. It was also fun to explore a new city and check off another state on my bucket list. In 2025, we’ll be headed to Raleigh, North Carolina for show number 3!
The highlight in March was our family trip to Zion National Park. We spent a week in Utah – plus a few days in Vegas – exploring the park and a couple of state parks as well. I LOVED Utah. Honestly, I’d go back in a heartbeat. It was so beautiful and the landscape was so unique. I think Dan and I are going to have to plan to visit again someday!
April was a busy month of wedding planning and planting season. I searched and searched for something more exciting to share, but I think this was just a busy, “get things done” month. Which is okay to have too! It was also stressful because of all the rain the farm got this last Spring. Dan was super busy trying to get the crops planted – and sometimes replanted – in between the downpours. Hoping this Spring goes a little smoother!
May was a big month with so many exciting things happening. One of the highlights was that I was able to go back to Washington DC for a few days for work. It’s kind of my home away from home, so it’s always a fun time to get back there.
Another big highlight in May was the bridal shower my sister and my mom threw for me. It was a fun day with friends and family and it really started to sink in that Dan and I would soon be married!
June was another busy month of last minute wedding prep. I had my hair and makeup trial for the wedding and had a bachelorette party at my parent’s lake house as well. It ended up raining the day we had the get together, so it was pretty low key, but it was a lot of fun. I got to spend the day having a little spa day and good food with some of my closest friends. Can’t beat that! I unfortunately didn’t take any pics that day though.
July was the highlight of the entire year, because Dan and I got married!! It was the best day ever. It was everything I dreamed it would be and I’m so excited to to spend the rest of my life with Dan by my side.
In August I got to spend lots of time with the kiddos and helped both of them celebrate a birthday. Can’t believe they are now three and one! They’re growing up way too fast.
In September, my sister and I celebrated entering a new decade: hello 30! Seems kind of wild that we’re that old already.
October was another big wedding month as we jetted on down to Okoboji for Nick and Hannah’s wedding! They had a beautiful fall day and it was fun to get away for the weekend as well.
November was full of Thanksgiving festivities with lots of good food, family time, and good quality WARC time.
And finally, this last month has been full of Christmas festivities and deer hunting! Dan and I both had antler less tags this year, and we finally broke the bad luck streak we’ve been having for the last year. We both got our deer, and we got to spend some time with family in between!
Overall, 2024 was a really good year and it’s going to be tough to top. Dan and I have big plans for 2025 though – like finally going on our honeymoon! – and I think it has potential to be just as good, if not better than 2024. I’m looking forward to finding out!
Happy New Year y’all!
Until next time! 🙂
