Another Recipe to Try!
WOO! We survived another week. Who else finds the week after a long Thanksgiving weekend incredibly hard? After a few relaxing days of eating good food and spending time with friends and family, it makes it a little difficult to go back to the real world! But unfortunately for me, Dan refuses to be my sugar daddy, so it was back to the grind on Monday.
I had a lot going on this week, and to be honest, my mind is still kind of spinning from all of it. I thought I’d keep my blog a little simple this week, and share another new recipe with all of you. We also found this one on Instagram, and it was very tasty!
Now, I have to ask you not to judge until you try it, because it does sound like a bit of a mess at first glance. We found this loaded breakfast fries recipe, and it was super easy.
The ingredients you will need are:
– Frozen waffle fries
– Eggs
– Cheddar Cheese
– 1 pound of breakfast sausage
– salt
– pepper
– milk
– butter
– flour
First step, is to put those waffle fries on a pan and bake them according to the package. When they are finished, you’ll sprinkle them with salt and place them on some plates. While they are still warm, sprinkle them with cheddar cheese.
Next, you’re going to make scrambled eggs. You can make your scrambled eggs however you please, but we usually use 5-6 eggs, and mix them with a little bit of milk, butter, and pepper. When those are done, add the scrambled eggs to the top of your waffle fries.
Now, you’re going to make sausage gravy. Take your sausage – we used the maple flavor last time and it added a very nice touch – and ground it up in a pan. When it is cooked through, you’ll add 2 tablespoons of butter and 3 Tablespoons of flour. Mix those all together and then slowly add 2 cups of milk. You should stir continuously until it is thick. If needed, you can add more flour or more milk to desired thickness. Once it’s bubbling, it is finished, and you can add that gravy right to the top of your fries and scrambled eggs!
We ate it too fast to stop and take a picture, and the internet is failing me right now in finding something good enough to show you, so I apologize for that. And I know this probably sounds like a big pile of slop, but oh my goodness, it is SO good. Dan ate it until his stomach hurt and he couldn’t move the rest of the night – that’s how you know it’s REALLY good! And just like the Big Mac Smash tacos, it’s pretty easy to make as well. Even the most beginner of cooks shouldn’t have a hard time making this.
So, if you’re looking for something easy to make this weekend after surviving another week, I suggest you add this to your list. And let me know how it turns out!
Until next time! 🙂
