So, a few weeks ago I wrote a blog all about my sister for our birthday, and now it’s my dad’s turn! His birthday is on Monday, so if you see him out and about make sure to wish him a very happy day!

I asked my dad the same questions I asked Molly, and it was kind of fun to see how their answers differed, and how similar a lot of them were too. She’s definitely one of his kids!!

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited?
Estes Park for our honeymoon, and then we went back for a few of our anniversaries.

What’s one of your favorite bands?
Eagles

What’s the cutest animal you’ve ever seen in person?
Dakota – obviously!

Favorite movie of all time?
I don’t have an ultimate favorite, but one of my favorites is Shaw Shank Redemption.

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would you choose?
A dog. Why the hell would I want anything else?? I get what I want!! (hahaha)

What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Being behind schedule. Drives me nuts.

What do you enjoy most about your career?
What could be better than helping somebody get better and healthier?

How do you define success?
Being happy and hoping I make a difference in what I do.

Did you ever expect to end up in the job you are in now?
If you had asked me in college or earlier – no. I was going to be a lab tech like my brother, then changed to medicine my junior year because I felt like I could do more. I actually didn’t get into med school my first try, so I did work in a cath lab for a year after college, but that made me apply for med school again because then I knew for sure I could do more. And I got in that time!

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Incredibly good looking – HAHA just kidding! Hard working. Dedicated. Loyal.

What do you think is the most annoying trait that you have?
I snore kind of loud, and I’m red/green color deficient. (He’s color blind haha).

What’s your favorite food?
Pepperoni Pizza

What are you passionate about outside of work?
Exercise

What’s your favorite sport to do/watch?
To do: running. To watch: NFL Football

What is your idea of a perfect vacation?
Cabin in the woods

Favorite TV show? Dumbest TV show?
Favorite: MASH
Dumbest TV show: ugh the laughing hyenas (he’s referring to Impractical Jokers hahaha)

What’s your favorite corny joke?
The three answers to a happy marriage: “Yes, dear.” “I’m sorry, dear.” “What the hell was I thinking, dear.”

What’s the silliest way you’ve ever accidentally hurt yourself?
I was brushing my teeth once, and the phone rang. I was on call, so I immediately go for it. I turn, trip on my shoe and smash my toe into the cupboard. I broke my toe and toothpaste went everywhere.

What’s your favorite memory?
When all three of my kids were born. I still remember all of it like it was yesterday.

If you could only keep one of your five sense, which would you choose?
I want to keep my vision.

If you could go back in history and spend a day with one famous person, who would it be?
Thomas Jefferson

What’s the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for you?
My nurse, Chris, makes me these big, elaborate birthday cakes every year – with peanut M&M’s!

If you only had one month to live, how would you live it?
I would spend as much time with my family as I could, and make sure Sarah knows where everything is so she is taken care of when I’m gone.

There were a few more questions with my dad since we didn’t have a screaming toddler with us, so lucky you! You got to learn even more about my dad. 🙂
