Happy Farmer’s Day!
I hear it was National Farmer’s day earlier this week! As many of you know, I’ve got a very special farmer in my life, and I have a whole new appreciation for the lifestyle.
Spring time and fall time are super busy seasons for famers out there, and when it’s time to go, it’s time to go! Dan’s been going hard for the last three weeks trying to get the crops out of the ground and it can be a very stressful time. I’ve seen him have good years and not as good years, just praying he can get through the season before bad weather hits or with as few breakdowns as possible. It’s a lot of long days and short sleepless nights, but he loves it. I think it means even more to him that he can keep it up now that his dad is no longer here, and if we get married and have kids, he’s already expressed how excited he is to show them the ropes someday.
I’m happy he’s teaching me how to run some of the equipment as well so I can continue to learn more and hopefully take some of the work load off his shoulders in future seasons!
I’ll keep it short and sweet this week, as I am literally sitting in the tractor with Dan as I type. He officially has all the crops out of the ground now, and he’s working the ground, telling me why he does it this way and showing me how it works so hopefully next year I can get a start on it while he’s still combining.
Being a farmer is a lot of hard work and it’s definitely not for the weak! So, it’s fitting they get a whole day to celebrate them. Happy belated Farmer’s Day, and thank you to all you farmers out there working your butts off for us!
Until next time! 🙂
