Next Chapter
Well, cat’s out of the bag! By now, many people already know that I resigned from my position as Student Activities Coordinator at Lake Area Technical College. While I enjoyed working at LATC, I felt it was time to hang up my hat on student activities.
For the most part, I enjoyed my job, but I’ve been itching to get back into marketing and more of what I went to school for. I figured the longer I stayed in my current position, the harder it was going to be to get back there. So, I tried applying for other job openings at LATC, but the stars did not align, and I finally decided to look elsewhere.
I’m very excited to announce that about a month ago now, I accepted a position at the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE) here in Watertown as the new Member Services Coordinator! I’m super excited to get back to using my business degree and learn and grow at a new company. I start full time next week and I’m ready to start grinding!
And while my position at LATC may not have been my dream job, I will say that I had some of the best co-workers I could possibly ask for. Most of the people here are so, so nice and supportive and I felt like I truly had a friend in every corner of the school. They are 100% what I’m going to miss most about working here! They also know how to put on one heck of a surprise party!!! One of them kidnapped me on my last day to get coffee and while we were gone, the rest of them decorated the office and brought in lunch. They hid in my office and waited for us to come back and then scared the poop out of us! I’ve never had a surprise party thrown for me before and I can honestly say I was surprised! It was so sweet of them, and I’ll admit a few tears were shed when I was alone in my officer later lol. I really couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with.
I took some time on my last day to walk around and reminisce, thinking about all the good times I had here. There were a lot of fun activities put on, and a lot of hard work put in, and it’s a little bitter sweet to be moving on.
Too many memories to put into one post, but you get the idea! It’s going to be weird not going in to LATC for work anymore, but I’ll always have the memories and I’ll cherish them forever. I’m excited to start a new chapter and see where it takes me!
Until next time! 🙂
