Swimming Through Life

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, y’all! I hope 2020 has been good to you so far. I kicked off the new year with a group of some of my new favorite people: run club of course! We had a slippery Wednesday morning run, but had one of our biggest groups in a while, with new and familiar faces. And of course it wouldn’t be a great day without a little swimming right?? A couple of us hopped on over to the pool after running and got a nice swim in as well. Nothing like kicking off the new year with a bang, and then a nice long nap afterwards ha!

Love running with these people!

Talking to people and scrolling through social media, I’ve heard plenty of times the popular phrase: new year, new me! And of course all the New Years resolutions people come up with as well. It’s interesting to see what people want to change about themselves, or what kind of goals they want to achieve each year. I have never really been into making New Years resolutions, but this year I think I’m going to make an exception.

This year, I want to make more time for myself, and my own happiness. In recent years, I feel like I’ve spent too much effort trying to please those around me, and I’m left with no energy or desire to make time for myself. I’m going to start doing more things I want to do, and take more time to relax as well. I can’t be the best version of myself if I’m unhappy and stressed out all the time. It’s high time I make that change!

I’m curious to hear what resolutions or goals others have for 2020? How are you going to achieve it? And will you be able to stick with it the whole year? Let’s work together to stick to our guns and get the most out of this year. I may need help reminding myself to take time for myself, and I’ll be there to help you with your goals too. Teamwork makes the dream work!!

Best of luck to all of you who have made resolutions for the year ahead. I’m ready to make this the best year yet, and it’s already off to a pretty good start.

It was also Dobby’s birthday on New Years! He’s my big 3 year old now! 🙂

Until next time! 🙂
