Merry Belated Christmas!
I hope everyone had a wonderful week celebrating the Christmas holiday with your friends and family! We had a quiet week with the fam, and had a little time off of work to relax as well.
Of course, we started Christmas week with another Christmas run at run club! We all came dressed in our festive gear, and even had some goodies to help kick off the week! That’s why we run after all, so we can make room for all the food we eat! 😉 I even swam with some folks from run club too, and I made them some more goodies to take home and enjoy. Have to give them a reason to keep coming back to swim with me!!
I worked until noon on Christmas Eve, and then enjoyed a day and half off of work to relax and spend some time with my family. Tanner and my sister celebrated with Tanner’s side of the family on Christmas day, but my brother came home to hang out with us. We had a big fancy meal of turkey and all the fixings, and then we opened presents later that night. We were going to wait until Friday to open presents and play some Christmas games, because Tanner and Molly were supposed to join us for the weekend; but it wouldn’t be a South Dakota Christmas without a big snow storm! So that part of our Christmas celebration has been postponed until the snow apocalypse has passed.
My favorite part of the day was that my mom bought Dobby some Christmas presents as well. I loved how excited he was when I pulled treats and toys out of his bag and he was so happy!! If I got that excited over my dog opening presents, imagine how I’ll be with kids someday! Opening gifts for myself isn’t as exciting as it used to be when I was little, but I do still really enjoy watching the excitement as others open their gifts. 🙂
It was a great week celebrating the holiday with my family, and even though I didn’t get to see Molly and Tanner, I’m looking forward to spending time with them in the new year! I’m also looking forward to another short week of work, if I’m totally honest! 😀
I hope everyone enjoys the last remaining days of 2019!! I may not speak for everyone, but I’m ready to leave this year in the dust and see what 2020 has to offer.
Until next YEAR!! 🙂
